Chelsea, it turns out, was too posh for Tom’s Place – the eco-friendly chippy in the heart of south west London’s swankiest ‘village’ – after all. After only six months in business, the restaurant has closed.
As previously reported, it was all to do with complaints about the smell, with neighbours’ concerns prompting environmental health officers from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to begin legal proceedings.
Aikens’s spokesman told The Independent that: "Chef Tom Aikens has announced that he has closed his Chelsea fish restaurant, Tom's Place, effective immediately.”
