One Kensington now open

picture of One Kensington

The Tamarind Collection has launched its new restaurant One Kensington today (24 March. The original opening date 17 March was pushed back due to building delays.

This is the third London restaurant from the group behind veteran Mayfair subcontinental Tamarind and Imli Street in Soho.

In a change from the style of the former Indian occupant of the site, Zaika, the Tamarind Collection's aim is to create a 'glamorous all-day dining space'. Inhabiting a Grade II listed, late Gothic revival, Victorian bank in Kensington, the restaurant is aiming for a gentleman’s club feel.

Let’s hope that B3 Designers manage to shake up an interior that, despite its architectural richness, often felt a bit dead in the past. Massimiliano Blasone (formerly of Apsleys) has been appointed as executive chef.
