Trishna – offshoot of a famous seafood restaurant in Mumbai – looks set to be one of the biggest subcontinental openings in London of recent times when it débuts in Marylebone in late-October.
The London operation comes with a big reputation behind it, and it has acquired the services of the former head chef from what’s often regarded as London’s best Indian restaurant, Rasoi Vineet Bhatia SW3.
Dishes, we’re told, will come mainly char-grilled (on a ‘sigri’), seared (on an iron ‘tawa’) or roasted in the tandoor, and the signature dish is whole crab for two, with butter, black pepper and garlic.
