Well-regarded Mayfair Italian Ristorante Semplice W1 is to spring a trattoria offshoot, to be open all day. The newcomer will be called Trattoria Semplice, and will also have a bar.
The location is a former pub just a few paces from the original restaurant. Given the setting, the opening hours and the presence of a bar, it does sound as if this particular ‘trattoria’ will look remarkably like what the uninitiated might call an Italian gastropub.
We‘ll see when the place opens, which we are told will be in mid-October.
