COUILLARD LAUNCHES AT GROSVENOR HOUSE IN FEBRUARY

Launching a little later than originally planned, Bord’eaux – a new restaurant at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane – is to open in mid-February.

The chef is Ollie Couillard, who won a big reputation at La Trompette W4, but has subsequently made a bit of a name as a ‘rolling stone’, having been a launch chef at both the new-look Dorchester Grill and Tom’s Kitchen.

As the name suggests, the culinary inspiration for the new operation is the West Coast of France. At 160 seats, its scale is broadly comparable to that of the Wolseley or Cafe Anglais.

Bord’eaux is to service one of London’s largest five-star hotels, so only time will tell whether it generates any particular reputation as a destination in its own right.
