Stefano Stecca, formerly head chef of Brunello SW7, is to launch his own solo venture – Osteria Stecca – on the former St John’s Wood site of Rosmarino.

It sounds as if the new venture will be quite stylish: its designer, reports catersearch.com, is David Dalmada, who did the interiors for Zafferano SW1 and La Petite Maison W1.

Stecca’s cuisine never really shone in the surroundings of Brunello – the restaurant at the preposterous Baglioni design-hotel. It’s entirely possible, however, that – cooking for himself – Stecca may emerge as something of a talent.

One to watch, we suspect.
