With surprisingly little ado, Anton Edelmann – for 21 years Maître Chef des Cuisines at the Savoy – has opened a restaurant just five minutes’ from Stansted Airport.

The supporting team sounds impressive, with a head chef boasting six years of Savoy experience, and a ‘sous’ whose cv includes a stint at Pétrus. Given such a starry background, prices – with few main courses exceeding £15 – seem eminently reasonable.
