Chef Massimo Riccioli and Slow Food UK’s CEO Catherine Gazzoli will be hosting a fun afternoon of food tastings, demonstrations, storytelling, drawing and entertainment on Saturday 25 February, to raise funds for Slow Food UK.
The family event will take place at Massimo Restaurant & Oyster Bar WC2, from noon until 3pm on Saturday, 25 February 2012. Tickets will cost £20 for adults and £10 for children, with under-5s going free. The event is being hosted by the restaurant, so all monies raised will go towards Slow Food UK, a grassroots movement that operates a host of educational projects including Slow Food Baby, Slow Food Kids (Taste Adventure), Slow Food on Campus, Slow Food Wisdom, the Ark of Taste and the Chef Alliance, all with the aim to educate and raise awareness about sustainability and social justice issues surrounding the food we eat.
For this event, the award-winning David Collins-designed restaurant will allow all the members of the family to interact with food and to watch demonstrations carried out by Chef Massimo and his team. Slow Food’s Taste Adventure will take children on an exciting journey through the five senses and the role that they play in our enjoyment of food.
The focus will be on key ingredients such as freshly baked bread, extra virgin olive oil, pasta, vegetables and how they can be combined to create simple and flavorsome dishes.
Drawing and story telling activities will also run throughout the event and food and drink will be served.
