Jamie Oliver is to launch a new BBQ venture, by St Paul’s Cathedral, with New York chef Adam Perry-Lang. The restaurant, as yet un-named, will open in October, reports Property Week
It will be one of nine restaurants or coffee shops in the One New Change development – by the major intersection just to the east of St Paul’s – which aims “to lead the transformation of the City into a seven-day shopping and leisure destination”. The building is designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel.
The twinning of the two chefs is hopeful. Only earlier this week, Harden’s highlighted the high level of approval from diners-out which has greeted the Jamie’s Italian chain, now growing across the UK.
Perry-Lang’s Big Apple establishment, Daisy May’s BBQ USA, is described as “one of NYC’s best BBQ joints” by the leading local survey guide, Zagat (with food rated 23/30 points, just one point less than Gordon Ramsay’s establishment there).
