CRITIC POWER, NYC-STYLE

As is often observed, New York is a one-critic town on the restaurant front, and that man is currently Frank Bruni of the New York Times.

In a review of SoHo’s well-regarded Fiamma Osteria this Wednesday, Bruni commented on how prices had shot up since the restaurant was relaunched, and when he – and most other critics – had last reviewed it.

And that very afternoon, the prices came tumbling down again.

As they say, only in New York…
