CLAUDIO PULZE GOES TUSCAN IN WESTMINSTER

Claudio Pulze – best known for his role in the founding of A-Z Restaurants, now renamed London Fine Dining, and in which he is no longer involved – is to launch a new Italian restaurant in Westminster.

Head chef of the 70-seat Osteria dell'Angolo, to open in September, will be Michele Brogi, who previously worked in the kitchens of Zafferano SW1 and Aubergine SW10 before a stint at Florence’s famous Enoteca Pinchiorri.

In an interview with caterersearch.com, Pulze also revealed that he is to open his first gastropub, The Beehive in Marylebone, next month.

It also appears that Pulze now hopes for a May opening for Brasserie Saint Jacques, in St James’s. The restaurant – on the former site of Fiore – was first scheduled to open last September, but was delayed due to problems with the lease. Philippe Legendre, executive chef of Le Cinq – the restaurant of Paris’s legendary George V – is no longer involved.

PS A Harden’s exclusive: we can confirm that the site of Osteria dell’Angelo is in Marsham Street SW1, opposite the (new) Home Office.
