Ramsay refusé moves on to Soho House NYC

Of the various chefs who’s left the Ramsay empire in recent times – other that Marcus Wareing, obviously – the one who has achieved the highest profile is probably Neil Ferguson.

Leaving the Sweary One’s empire after the less-than-rapturous reception for Ramsay’s New York opening, Ferguson went on to be chef of a Lower East Side restaurant called Allen & Delancey, where he has made quite a name in his own right.

Now – shock, horror! – he‘s moving on again, apparently for his own personal and professional reasons, to be chef of the the outpost of Nick Jones’s Soho House club in the Meatpacking District (proprietor, inevitably, Richard Caring).

For the full story, see Eater.com. The website notes that, in the media-crazy Manhattan food scene, Ferguson “is going to need to formulate a strategy for staying relevant at a place not open to the public”. The Soho House stint may, however, keep him in the eye of the British media movers and shakers for whom the Soho House is a sort of unofficial embassy in New York.
