Opening early in 2010, a new hotel – the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London – is to offer 1,021 guest rooms. Some of the rooms in the 15 story building will offer “uninterrupted views across the river to the Houses of Parliament” (which does rather make one wonder about the effect on the view the other way).
The four-star establishment comes complete, of course, with “restaurants, bar, lounge, café and luxury spa”, and also 2,700 square metres of meeting space, including a pillarless ballroom seating over 1000 for dinner. Watch out Grosvenor House! In total, there will be over 30 meeting and event spaces.
The largest hotel in town at the moment is Hilton London Metropole, in Bayswater, which boasts 1054 rooms and 20 suites.
