All is not running smoothly in the roll-out of Jamie Oliver’s new chain of affordable high-street eateries.
The Bath branch, which was supposed to have been the first, has had its opening put back to July, and the Cambridge and Brighton branches will not open until 2009.
First branch out of the blocks, then, looks set to be Oxford, scheduled for the end of May. Let’s hope that the fact that the chain may launch in the city with some claim to being England’s most disappointing dining out destination is not an omen.
According to catererseach.com, a fifth site for the brand has now been identified, in Kingston Upon Thames, to open at the end of 2008.
