Today saw the official launch of the inaugural London Restaurant Festival, to run from 8-13 October. Such a concept – a celebration of the city’s diverse and ever-burgeoning restaurant scene – has not really ever been done in quite the same way anywhere else in the world. In the long run, the organisers have great hopes for it. How great? Well, let’s just say: Edinburgh watch out!
One of the innovative events the Festival comprises is a pop-up restaurant on the roof of Selfridge’s, where the chef will be Pierre Koffmann, of the fabled former Tante Claire. Almost all the Festival week spaces have been pre-booked, and the pop-up will therefore be open for the following week too. Details of this, and all other events, can be found on the Festival website.
