London Mayor Boris Johnson announced the winner of the London on Tap competition earlier this this week.
The Mayor of London and Thames Water launched the campaign in February to promote the economic and environmental advantages of tap water. The hope is that if the distinctive London carafe is widely adopted by restaurants, it should boost the social acceptability of tap water.
Neil Barron's winning ‘Tap Top’ glass carafe (above) will be on sale to restaurants, bars and cafés in the capital from next month.
We rather like the look of the winner. Most of the competing designs seemed remarkably fiddly, to the extent that we’d have thought they would have been uneconomic to produce, and susceptible to high breakage levels.
