How could we ever have doubted it? Tom Aikens’s long-heralded ethical chippy, on Chelsea Green, will open this month. Appropriately, the opening date is a Friday – 14 December.

The Aikens empire will then comprise not only the flagship – Tom Aikens SW3 – and the chippy, but also a very successful bistro (Tom’s Kitchen SW3) and a newly-launched traiteur operation at Selfridge’s.
