Lunch with the FT and Take a Friend for a Fiver Promotion – Terms and Conditions

  • These are the terms and conditions on which you agree to participate in the Lunch with the FT and Take a Friend for a Fiver promotion (the “Promotion”). References in these terms and conditions to “FT” or the “Promoter” refers to The Financial Times Limited. These terms and conditions include all instructions of how to take part in the Promotion.
  • This Promotion entitles FT readers (“Readers”) to take a friend for lunch for £5 when the Reader pays full price at any of the participating restaurants listed in the Financial Times newspaper or online at www.ft.com/lunch.
  • The Promotion will run from Saturday 16 January 2010 until Friday 12 February 2010 inclusive (“Promotion Period”). Participating Readers must have booked and eaten their discounted lunch during the Promotion Period.
  • To participate in the Promotion, Readers must collect three tokens from the FT newspaper per pair dining (Two Tokens will be printed in every FT Weekend edition and one Token will be printed in every weekday edition throughout the Promotion Period) and pre-book at a participating restaurant quoting "Lunch with the FT". Bookings are on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability. Tokens will be collected by the restaurants.
  • All the restaurants listed have agreed to participate in the Promotion at the Promotional price in clause 7. Any enquiries relating to a participating restaurant should be taken up directly with the restaurant concerned.
  • Counterfeit, photocopied or otherwise reproduced vouchers, or defaced vouchers will not be accepted by restaurants. Restaurants reserve the right to refuse to honour the Promotion if they feel that the Tokens have been obtained by such means. Neither the Promoter nor the restaurants can accept any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged vouchers.
  • The discount will be calculated for two people dining as follows: (i) the total food bill for the table at menu prices will be halved; (ii) a £5 food charge will be added for the second diner; (iii) drinks and coffee will be charged as normal; and (iv) the standard service charge will be added.
  • Tables may order from any available standard table d'hôte ('set') menu as well as from the à la carte menu. Every à la carte diner must order at least two courses, including one main.
  • The offer is available for tables of 2, 4, 6 and upwards (at the restaurant's discretion) provided that the requisite multiple of tokens (3 per pair dining) is produced.
  • This offer does not apply to any special promotional menus (and any alcohol-inclusive menu shall be deemed to be such a menu). This offer may not be used in conjunction with any other offer.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to vary or amend this Promotion and Readers agree that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
  • All details and descriptions relating to the Promotion have been supplied by the participating restaurants and are believed to be correct at the time of going to print. Neither the Promoter, nor its agents, can accept any responsibility for any discrepancies, inaccuracies or misconceptions given or construed.
  • Any dispute or complaint must, in the first instance, be brought to the attention of the restaurant. The Promoter is happy to investigate any unresolved problems. However, it cannot be held responsible for the actions of the restaurant.
  • The Reader accepts that it may be necessary for FT to withdraw the participation of certain restaurants from the Promotion during the Promotion Period and any such changes will be updated on the list of restaurants at www.ft.com/lunch.
  • To the fullest extent that may be excluded by the law, the Promoter and its agents (including Harden’s Limited) accept no responsibility for or any liability arising from any persons taking part in the Promotion. All activities are undertaken at the Reader’s (and the Reader’s companions’) own risk. The Promoter gives no warranty or guarantee in relation to the services supplied by the restaurants.
  • The Promotion and Tokens are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
  • Readers will be entitled to take advantage of the Promotion as many times as they wish within the Promotional Period.
  • This Promotion shall be governed by English Law and participants agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  • Promoter: The Financial Times Limited, Number One Southwark Bridge, London SE1 9HL. Registered number in England and Wales 227590
