Purple is the New Green

EST the sustainable trucking company - EST, the east London based transport and logistics company, are delighted to have taken delivery of a further 6 Euro 5 standard trucks to their fleet this month, taking their fleet of Euro 5 standard trucks to 15, the latest in a series of measures to reduce EST’s harmful emissions. EST’s trucks now produce particle emissions 25% below the EEV (Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicles) standard.

EST’s practices are constantly monitored and maintained, or developed, to ensure the environmental impact of EST’s day-to-day operations supports the industry increasingly in delivering events which are environmentally sound. Internally, a great effort has been made to educate EST’s personnel so that they are predisposed towards developing efficient logistical solutions. All EST drivers are trained to practice environmental driving methods, and their performance is regularly reviewed and checked. In addition, EST uses the relationships it has built over 35 years in the industry to encourage suppliers to adopt carbon neutral practices and follow effective sustainability policies.

Developing increasingly efficient logistical solutions and using resources more economically, EST has improved its environmental credentials, efficiency levels and reduced its carbon footprint.

The perception that road haulage is detrimental to the environment and unsustainable is difficult to alter, but EST’s constant and concerted efforts to improve sustainability are gradually improving their green credentials and decreasing the production of harmful emissions in day-to-day practices.
