Wednesday 13 October saw the relaunch party for HMS President 1918, celebrating Dish's sole caterer status and completion of the ship's refurbishment. 350 guests were invited to see the many rooms with huge potential for hosting events from meetings and conferences to parties.
On arrival, guests were greeted by a Royal Naval Reserve seaman and music by a burlesque styled pianist. Champagne and canapes - including cannon of lamb with shortbread, parsnip and white chocolate, tapas dishes and prawn fitter - were presented to visitors on the upper deck. A large ice sculpture engraved with the Dish logo also treated guests to fruits from the sea such as smoked salmon and haddock, oysters and Madagascan prawns.
Entertainment got off to a racing start with speedboat rides to Tower Bridge courtesy of London RIB Voyages. Showcases included an acrobatic circus style performance from 'Ivan's Show' and a DJ in the Ballroom.
On the main deck guests were able to enjoy jazz from the OXO Tower Quintet and views of the London skyline. For those looking to kick back and relax, The Wrennery on the main deck offered large floor cushions and leather armchairs as well as a selection of cheeses and rich chocolate fondants with ice-cream.
