This Summer First Restaurant Group's The Summerhouse arrived in Maida Vale and is now being kept open throughout the winter. To celebrate they will be serving that classic winter warmer, fondue, throughout the winter.
Situated along the banks of Little Venice, they will also be remaining true to their original seafood offering in a space reminiscent of a Hampton's beach house. And to ensure you're not cold on those chilly winter evenings, guests will be kept warm with outdoor heaters on the terrace, blankets, mulled wine and cider.
The Summerhouse menu now reflects the changing seasons with a Classic Swiss Fondue (emmental, gruyere and vermouth) served with rustic bread and green salad for £12 per person, taking it from the 70's firmly into the 21st Century. Other winter warmers include Butternut Squash and Ginger Soup and 'Best Ever' Popcorn Shrimp with Sweet Chilli Sauce for starters, followed by mains such as The Summerhouse Fish Pie and Roast Spiced Chargrilled Calves Liver, Swiss Chard, Grain Mustard Crushed Potatoes with Bacon and Sage Jus. Desserts include Apple and Rhubarb Crumble with Custard, Knickerboker Glory and Chocolate Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream.
There are also an array of drinks to warm your cockles on offer, from the Smoky Martini, a blend of Belvedere Vodka and Laphroaig Whiske, to the Southern Winter Cup, warm cider blended with Southern Comfort, Angostura, Cinnamon and Fresh Apple Juice.
