For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.

Summary

“You feel you are going back to the roots of good eating” at this “very different” ethical establishment in a “relaxed” Victorian walled garden – “stunning fresh food” is “grown in the gardens” just beyond, and there’s an “unbeatable view from the full-wall window”.

Summary

“There is something magical about the Ethicurean”; from “the wonderful, creative and wholesome food”, to the setting in a “quaint Victorian walled garden” with valley views, this ethical venture is “a must for those who want to feel connected to what they eat”; “drinks work too!”

Summary

“Set in a restored orangery in a lovely walled garden, with views across the valley to the Mendip Hills”, this ‘ethical’ restaurant “uses only local produce, a lot of it from their own garden”; no good if the food doesn’t measure up, of course, but all reports say it’s “original”, with “vivid flavours”, and “served with love”.

Summary

Adjacent to a Victorian kitchen garden, a “simple” restaurant serving “exquisite” dishes created from “brilliantly sourced local ingredients”; “on a fine summer’s evening, this must be one of the most beautiful places in the UK to eat” too!

"Almost wonderful but let down by overseasoning and very poor bread. I hope it ups it’s game as the concept of walled garden outside to plate is brilliant."

"Lovely, unusual food cooked woth care and great imagination. A lovely experience. My only gripe was that the "sourdough" bread was rather ordinary and lacked character. My first benchmark for a restaurants is its bread."
