For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
Newly taken over by Dominic Chapman, ex-of the acclaimed Royal Oak nearby, and now turning out some “delicious food”, this red-brick venture is “much improved on the old pub” that formerly stood here.
Dominic Chapman, ex-of the Michelin-starred Royal Oak nearby, “has had a fantastic first year” at the helm of this red-brick pub, by the village cricket green; it’s still “a work in progress” but by all accounts he's already serving up accomplished food at “reasonable prices”.
Dom’s wife, Helena, whom he met at Kensington Place in 2001, also comes with a wealth of experience – notably as a weddings and events manager. Her role will be to manage and oversee The Beehive as a great venue for parties and special occasions. Meanwhile, Helena’s sister, Alicia, who has worked in some of London’s top eateries over the past fifteen years, manages the floor and front of house team.
Dom and Helena’s partners at The Beehive, David & Victoria Coubrough, are close family friends and well-known professionals in the trade. David has run a number of large hotel and catering enterprises. And Victoria is a third generation proprietor of her family’s hotel as well as having a wide ranging hospitality background in London.
We all look forward to seeing you at The Beehive and showing you a great time!
Beehive Restaurant Diner Reviews
"The Beehive is vastly improved since it has been taken over. I had an excellent starter of herring rollmops and cream, the herrings avoiding being overly acidic as they often are. Fish and chips was flavoursome, glass of wine very drinkable. Baked Alaska good, perhaps a touch too sweet for my liking; great texture. Table decoartions very pleasant. Decor is restrained with soft greens, but clearly has been spruced up since its previous ownership. Service was ever friendly and attentive without being overbearing."
"Glass of Prosecco delivered with menu, then had to wait 35 min before order taken, thought they had forgotten us, I said we were contemplating going home."
