"Our last evening in Torquay for a year or some and No 7 was probably the best evening of the trip, after friendly greeting from the excellent staff and organising the wine there was a small bowl of sweet picked garlic cloves. Ther are several choices available from blackboards on the walls and a tray of fish samples are brought to illustrate what is available and indicate portion sizes, I had 6 oysters for a start, one of us is allergic so they were mine followed by a rustic fish soup served in a pan, there were a few bony bits but at £7.95 a real bargain and a crab salad with a reasonable quantity of crab. For mains a small turbot and a as they have a seperate board advertising tempura I picked the good size chunk of cod with two fine fress scallops and two prawns which were done in very good tempura batter, they obviously specialise in it, this all came with a salad and 3 different dishes of veg. Good desserts followed by good coffee a petis four, the bill also had no service charge listed, optional or not! A very good restaurant wish they were near to us."
