“Great views from the beachside terrace and an interesting fishy menu” have made this tapas-style venture “a definite must-go”, especially when visiting the nearby Tate. (As of 2019, they also run seasonal spin-off West Beach Bakery, on the western side of Porthmeor Beach, and serving up “great pizzas”, deli-style lunches and “even better views” than the original… and it's “less busy” too).

An “imaginative” tapas-style venue that’s “bang on trend” and enjoys “an unrivalled location right on the beach and by the Tate”. “The view alone would suffice”, but there’s far more on offer – the “food never fails to deliver” and is “reasonably priced” (“it shouldn’t be this good!”).

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Easily my favourite of the St Ives beach cafes. Tapas food usually includes at least one dish which wows and the location if as good as anywhere in the world."

"We booked to meet friends who live in the area but haven't yet been to PBC. They were not disappointed as we worked out way through the list of tapas, highlights included caramelised aubergine, Moroccan spiced pulled lamb and Lemon & ricotta arancini. Service was good and quicker than expected on a busy half term week and it didn't seem to matter when you have the wonderful sea view to gaze at."

"Their tapas selection is constantly changing, more hits than misses, and everything wonderfully fresh. On a summer evening there is no place I would rather be."
