Quite “a find” overlooking a “glorious” Hampshire vineyard, this “beautiful” contemporary restaurant serves up “top-notch” dishes created by Atul Kochar, of Benares (a top London Indian) fame; the prices, though, would seem equally at home in Mayfair.

Food 5/5, Ambience 4/5, Service 5/5
The critic visits this surprisingly formal new restaurant, in a vineyard, which is run by Atul Kochhar of Benares (Mayfair) fame. “[W]hile his London restaurant… serves a sophisticated, European-influenced version of Indian food, here the emphasis is reversed”, says the critic. “This isn't Indian food, but contemporary – even cutting-edge – cooking, using local ingredients and state-of-the-art techniques, in a kitchen where the tandoor sits comfortably alongside the Pacojet frozen food maker.” The cuisine, like the rest of the experience, turns out to be pretty much “flawless”.

The critic ventures to a new establishment in a vineyard, where the cooking – presided over by the Atul Kochar, head chef of Benares in Mayfair – is “modern British with an Indian twist”. And very satisfactory too.
