“One of Norfolk’s best pub lunches” is to be had at this “buzzy gastropub” with “outstanding” views over the marshes, and where a meal might be “pint of Woodforde’s Wherry and a bowl of mussels” or a “beautifully done” fish of the day, plus “the most excellent chips” to go with it… “what more could you want?”

“One of those places you have to visit: the name does nothing for it, and the outside of the pub looks dull and uninviting, but persevere and you will find good honest seafood and fresh fish”, a “friendly atmosphere with lots of locals chatting” and a “huge external sitting area with splendid views of the Norfolk expanse”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"A real pub by the village green, scrubbed top tables with friendly staff, good atmosphere and an excellent fish and seafood menu, which was reflecting in the quality and presentation of the meal. A true delight for a simple venue with food food well presented with a smile."
