Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“A little bit of the 10th arrondissement in Reigate” – Serge Tassi’s “very jolly” Gallic venture (celebrating its 35th year of operation) serves “lovely French fare” and has “upped its game in recent times while retaining a brasserie feel”. That the wines are “a bit pricey” is an occasional gripe.
“Still a good brasserie” offering “very French” and “very enjoyable” cuisine; it did, however, rub a few reporters up the wrong way this year – whether because it “tries too hard” to be Gallic (“couldn’t bear the corny, and noisy, accordion!”) or because the “wine prices are ridiculously high”.
A “real French restaurant with a great atmosphere”; while some insist that it has “upped its game over the year”, offering “more innovative” food, others claim it's “not as good as it used to be” and “needs to sparkle a little more”.
