“Lovely seafood and with a nice terrace area overlooking the loch” – this scenically located eatery near the water sprung out of a sister business, Lochleven Shellfish (and you can buy retail on-site). Stop off if you can, if you are in the locale and fancy a meal of oysters, scallops, crab, lobster, langoustine…

Decorated with marine-themed sculptures, and benefitting from a lochside terrace, this informal seasonal (closed Nov-Jan) staple is “not to be missed” for its “amazing oysters” and “lovely shellfish” (both also arriving at a “great price”); they also run an on-site fish shop.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
