Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
A restaurant “above the original Boots shop, with large windows overlooking the busy Hockley nightlife” that's “going from strength to strength each year”; “the food is seasonal, often fairly local, and never disappointing”, while service is “just on the right side of relaxed”.
“Above Jesse Boot’s original chemist’s shop”, this “never-disappointing” spot in the Lace Market is tipped for its “interesting” menu which makes “good use of local produce”; fish in particular is done “very well”.
An interestingly-housed venture, “in the original Boots shop”, tipped for its “consistently good” food in general (and “great steaks” in particular).
The Larder on Goosegate Restaurant Diner Reviews
"There is a timeless elegance about this place and everything in it. The service was good and friendly despite that needed attention of a large party. The presentation of the food is great and portions are nicely judged so as not to overwhelm the undoubted quality with quantity. The blade of beef was just awesome."
"The meal was let down by one very poor in edible steak, the long delay between starter and main courses and the poor response to the complaint about the steak. All the other three meals that night were good."
