For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“A cosy historic cellar in the Lace Market” (“we walked past twice before we found it”) provides the “romantic” setting for this “hidden gem” – one of the town’s most commented-on eateries – on account of its “tapas dishes prepared with panache”, and “efficient but un-rushed” service. With success is coming expansion – a new ‘Bar Iberico’ is on the cards on Carlton Street in Hockley.
The extensive vaults of “an historic building in the Lace Market” house this “lovely” and lively haunt. “Nothing is too much effort for the staff”, who provide “clever” tapas dishes, many of them “exceptional”, all at very “reasonable prices”; “excellent” cocktails and wines too.
This “outstanding” tapas bar, in the vaults of an historic building, is a “lively” place, well worth seeking out for its “imaginative” fare; for top value, seek out the “fabulous express lunch deal”.
“Proper” tapas, plus “slick” and “friendly” service (and also a “particularly good-value” weekday express lunch) make this “hidden-away” but “lively” cellar a big favourite locally; they've recently expanded into nearby Derby, so let’s “hope that doesn’t take their eye of the ball”!
Iberico Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Stunning food as always."
"Had the express pre theatre, nearly everything was delicious. Shrimp and kale, jerusalem artichoke and sour cream, and catalan bread always tasty. Let down by dessert, orange sponge, dry and oversweet. Service fine though they always seem a little disconcerted by me being on my own, sitting me at the bar but not interacting with me"
