For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
A gastroboozer combining a “good pubby atmosphere”, “lovely” staff, and “very fresh local produce with a traditional British slant”; it’s particularly “handy for a pre-theatre meal if you are off to Gateshead Sage or the Live Theatre”.
Terry Laybourne has scored another home run with his Quayside venture – “everything a pub should be”. There’s a “fantastic atmosphere”, staff are “very professional”, there’s a “magnificent beer list”, and the kitchen delivers “a superb take on classic British dishes”.
“A truly fantastic pub”, run by local restaurant mogul Terry Laybourne, uniformly acclaimed for its “fantastic beer list” and “a kitchen on great form” too – “I’m glad I have a son at the Uni, which gives me an excuse to go!”
Terry Laybourne’s well-known gastropub, off the Quayside, attracts plenty of reports, most in praise of its “lively” style, “straightforward” fare and “really fine draught ales”; downstairs in the bar they serve “tasty titbits” (Glaswegian tapas) – upstairs a more ambitious menu.
