Spooky. Almost exactly a year after this website hailed a set lunch at this celeb-chef’s North Western outpost (then newly opened) as “the best-value meal we have had in England this year”, the Observer’s man proclaims that said meal “must be one of the best bargains in the world of serious cooking available in Britain today”. Remember: you read it here first. The critic is especially impressed, as his experience of another branch of the same group had been “slapdash”. He does wonder, however, how they can be making any money out of the exercise.
