“I’ve simply never not loved any dish served here in all the years I’ve been going!” With a “superb location looking across the River Teme”, chef Clive Davis’s “wonderful” café (“sit outside and watch the kids fishing”) offers “simple and uncomplicated” food, whose “deftness and assurance means it’s always brilliant” (and “at these affordable prices, you can afford to spend extra petrol to get there”). “I had foie gras the night before at a Michelin-starred joint and it was good. The next day I had Clive Davis’s chicken liver paté for lunch, and it was ridiculously 10 times better!”
“It’s only a café”, but this uncomplicated spot delivers “gorgeous food, in a gorgeous riverside setting”. Chef Clive Davis has the culinary equivalent of “perfect pitch”, and his “simple” fare from a “short, spot-on menu” is “cooked and seasoned to a tee”. A catch? – “on a busy day (every day nowadays!) you may feel a bit cheek-by-jowl”.
“Simple and sublime”, this riverside café (“with a fantastic view of the weir”) is “pretty much perfect on a sunny day”; the food may be “uncomplicated”, but it is “glorious” – “as good as, if not better than, the local Michelin-starred jobs”; “I’ve eaten here 100 times, and only been disappointed once!”
With its “amazing location on the river next to a weir and below a castle”, this “great little café” is “a hit with all generations”, and Clive David prepares “simple and delicious fare, seasoned to perfection” – and “where else do you get a hot water bottle if you sit outside?!”
