For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
A 16th-century inn, set in a “lovely country setting”, on the Oxfordshire borders, where “the food is usually very reliable”.
A restaurant-with-rooms in a “pleasant country setting” with a “well thought-out” menu; even regulars who “do not think the cooking is as good as it used to be” say “you never have a bad meal here”.
Generally good feedback of late for this restaurant-with-rooms, which combines “above-average pub food”, a “lovely country location” and “friendly and efficient service”; some regulars feel, though, that “it’s just not as good as it used to be”.
“A delightful gastropub in a picturesque village” remains the general view on this popular spot; one or two reports suggest it’s “slipped of late” – hopefully just a blip.
