Editor Reviews

  • Richard and Peter Harden (19th July 2010)

To visit the landmark which is Centre Point is to be taken back to a different, poorer London. The building (completed in ’66) may at the time have been perceived as a sign of thrusting optimism,... more

Press Reviews (4)

  • Evening Standard David Sexton (16th June 2010)
    Food 3/5, Experience 5/5

The food at this dining room atop Centre Point is good enough, but it turns out to be irrelevant. It’s the setting that sweeps the critic away. “We were sitting in the Red Room, in hues of scarlet and bronze, decorated with pots of white mophead hydrangeas, looking west as the sun set and the light turned golden. I’ve had few more memorable meals.’
  • Evening Standard David Sexton (10th June 2010)
    Food 3/5 stars, Atmosphere 5/5

“The views are exhilarating”. saus the critic, and contribute to a “total experience” of a visit to Centre Point’a top floor dining room which is both “memorable” and “worth the price”. The food may not be the main point but – despite being “elaborately assembled” – it “all tasted good”.
  • The Telegraph Jasper Gerard (1st June 2010)
    6/10

The food, and particularly the tiny portions, on offer at the dining room at the top of Centre Point do not impress the critic. He concludes, however, that it’s “worth stomaching… to drink in the view”.
  • The Times Giles Coren (19th October 2009)
    7.67

The private members club at the top of Centre Point “has opened its restaurant to the public”, and the critic visits it twice. On his night-time visit he finds “a wide-ranging, very modern and quite original menu”, the prices of which he finds good-value, considering that it’s “quite a special spot”. On a lunchtime visit he enjoys the “good tapas”, “solicitous service” and “more staggering daytime views”.
