For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
Okonomi-yaki (fancy Japanese omelettes “cooked in front of you”) is “good fun”, and “done well” at these “comfy” but rather “tired-looking” fixtures.
“Interesting”, “authentic” and “consistently tasty”; okonomi-yaki – which is to say fancy Japanese omelettes – are the stock-in-trade of these “courteous” West End cafés; all those tabletop barbecues, though, can make the atmosphere rather “smelly”.
“Unique” and “fun”, these West End ‘okonomi-yaki’ (Japanese omelette) parlours – where the cooking takes place at your table – make entertaining venues for a light bite.
Abeno Restaurant Diner Reviews
"A fantastic Japanese restaurant, tucked down a side street near the British Museum. Abeno's speciality is Japanese-style pizzas cooked on hot plates in front of you. It's fascinating to watch the process and the smell is amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great, our waiter/chef was really friendly and chatty. The only negative was having to wait a while for our table as the restaurant had had to rearrange some bookings that evening. The venue itself is great, very small, informal and intimate. This does however mean it can be noisy- we had a large birthday party sat next to us. On the whole, this place was excellent and I'll definitely be back."
