Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
Malcolm John’s “off-the-beaten-track” Gallic classic by Acton Green, is known for its “delicious” bistro fare and “intimate” ambience; its ratings suffered this year though, with quite a number of reports of the “perhaps-they-were-having-a-bad-day” variety.
“All the French classics” are realised to a “perfectly sound” standard at Malcolm John’s “professional but laid-back” bistro, opposite Acton Green; it has the knack of “making a series of small surprises into a very satisfactory all-round experience”.
“A classic, traditional establishment”, which wouldn’t look out of place in ‘la France profonde’, but which seems quite a find opposite Acton Green; critics can find the fare a touch “unexciting”, though, and the interior is “closely packed”.
