Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
You’re not in Chinatown now! – this “plush” Mayfair Chinese is an “elegant” (“slightly clinical”) spot with “smartly dressed” staff and a “comfortable” interior; the Cantonese cooking is “consistent” and “surprisingly good value” too.
“Amazingly good-value” dim sum is the highlight at this “elegant” and “upmarket”, if perhaps slightly “soulless”, Mayfair Chinese; at other times, it’s a “totally reliable” option for “classic” Cantonese cooking.
“Always delicious, and not as expensive as it looks” – this smart Mayfair Chinese veteran is hailed in many reports for its “fresh” and “delicate” cuisine, which includes some “fabulous and authentic dim sum”.
Princess Garden Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Now called Mayfair Garden, no different except with paper napkins and tablecloth covers. To their credit, we were able to be seated at 10:30 on New Year's Eve, when our reservation elsewhere fizzled. The portions are small, and the food so-so. There are new service personnel, but it is about the same. The glamour of yesteryear is gone, but the prices, with the 15% service charge not even presented with an itemization, remain the same. ---------------- It was rainy Friday night, and we gave it another. My partner was satisfied, but I thought the food to be just plain mediocre, as was the service. There was even a problem for ice for the water, but there was no problem for their compulsory !5% service charge."
