Harden's survey result
For 25 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 60,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
“Entirely deserving of all the hype” is the overwhelming verdict on this “small, but comfortable and cosy” yearling, by picturesque Shepherd Market. It’s “a real charmer”: service is “welcoming and fun”, and the “highly competent cooking” is “big on simplicity and flavour”.
If you can nab a table (ay, there’s the rub), you should find your efforts amply-rewarded by this “cramped” newcomer in Mayfair’s Shepherd’s Market – one of 2015’s hottest tickets thanks to its “genial” service, “romantic” style, and Tomos Parry’s “very different and impressive, yet un-fussy cooking”. Top Menu Tip – “the burnt onion butter alone is worth a trip”.
Kitty Fisher's Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Outstanding - and neither of us had the milk cow special - but the normal menu was subtle light and elegant. Wines also good."
"My new favourite, charming service and delicious food"
"Quite cramped but a lovely little restaurant. The Taramasalata was so so good"
"This was a little disappointing for a legend! There is no set lunch menu so be prepared for the full price options only. Understandable as it is so small and they cannot waste tables although on our visit, it was far from full. This is more traditional modern British in style. Well cooked, plenty of grilled items yet without the true flair we see in others. Has it slipped or others caught up? Duck was a lovely 3 pieces, tender and looking amazing. Lacked that "extra oomph" of flavour though. Because it was not full the table closely next to us was empty otherwise it would be impossible to have a conversation. Doubt it we would go again."
"Finally managed to get a booking here on my son's birthday and it was a pleasant surprise - friendly service, not at all stuffy and food that, whilst not as exceptional as the reviews might lead you to believe, was very good - simple, beautifully combined ingredients of the highest quality - crab, duck, pork were the favourite dishes round our table. The wine list had a satisfyingly large number of bottles of French origin and it was good to have carafes so we could taste the range."
