“The best chops in London”, draw devotees to this “simple but winning” two-year-old in a bare-brick Soho basement that sells very little else. “Meat overload (in a good way)” – “smokey grilled chops, chips and wine: what’s not to like?” The no-reservations policy is “a hassle, but they send you a text to come back from the pub when they’re ready”.
“Chops, chops and more chops” is the promise at this “buzzy”, new “industrial-style” Soho basement; it certainly does “exactly what it says on the tin”, and “it’s hard to go wrong with large piles of meat at a decent price”.

"To bet met with such warmth is a rare find these days. We were give a choice of seats and plumped for next to the bar;where else! A short yet excellent choice of drinks including some lovely non-alcoholic cocktails got us in the mood. The chops were truly outstanding. Our Italian waitress with a hint of the East End was a delightful accompaniment to our lunch. She helped with our choices of wine and food, all being spot on. The four of us devoured our way through ribs galore. Even the bones were given a good crunching. The rib-eye was recommended as being served medium. It came rare but did not stint our passion for a succulent and above all well seasoned piece of meat. Veggie sides are not to be overlooked. The courgettes with Stilton were wonderful and the beef dripping chips were some of the best we had eaten in a long long time. Pudding was even free of charge, well it was a Monday lunchtime. Nevertheless an outstanding lunch from start to finish and also surprisingly for London a very good price too."
"Simply mouthwatering plates of chops. Excellent quality meat from an excellent supplier. Simple food but done extremely well. The "all-in" menu option is astonishing value for money. Can't recommend it heartily enough; can't wait to go back. Well done Blacklock!"
