1/5 stars
Another one-star review from the Evening Standard this week! The famous critic finds the look of the Grill – a branch newly arrived in Wimbledon Village – “a shade disappointing, its bare tables set among slabs of drab blue paint and varnished timber that seem a survival of the not so Swinging Sixties”. On the food front, the steak was “delicous”, but almost everything else was either poor or overpriced: “at £96.19, dinner at the Grill for two was disappointing on almost every count”.

A rather odd review (even by Adrian Gill’s standard) of this Battersea burger (and more) bar/restaurant, where the rather poor rating seems to have more to do with the “underhand practice” of using tips to amplify the staff's wages than with anything else.
