Tim Hames (19th September 2007)
Giles Coren’s stand-in finds the interior and location of the recently refurbished One-O-One to be a “tragedy”. Mercifully, however this has little effect on Pascal Proyart’s cooking: essentially food for “foodies”, with some “stunning” elements of “boldness”.
Lucas Hollweg (11th September 2007)
4/5 stars
While it seems to be “ladies-who-lunch territory”, Mr. Gill's stand-in this week praises this Knightsbridge seafood specialist for its “luxurious comfort food”.
Fay Maschler (29th August 2007)
3/5 stars
The recent upgrade to ‘London’s favourite fish restaurant’ (Harden’s) strikes Mrs M as “too little too late”, which is a shame as some of the fare it offers is “imaginative” – sadly, however, it can sometimes seem “distinctly unsexy” and “extravagantly priced”.
Terry Durack (29th August 2007)
16/20 points
One-O-One has “the power to transport you [to Brittany]”, says Mr Durack. The relaunch of this Knightsbridge fish restaurant may be “a bit pricey and a bit poncy”, but the fare is “fresh, bright and focussed”, thanks to the “precision and delicacy” of Pascal Proyart’s cuisine.
Marina O’Loughlin (22nd August 2007)
4/5 stars
For the “ultimate fat-cat's fish supper”, visit this Knightsbridge establishment, recommends Ms. O’Loughlin, who was left “gibbering with pleasure” after sampling the oysters.
