“Slightly cramped but buzzy” green-tiled former pub, once at the forefront of Bermondsey’s gastro-revival with its transformation into a food-led dining venue over a decade ago. It still has a “lively atmosphere”, the “fish ’n’ chips are brilliant” (and there’s even a cinema for private viewings in the basement).
“The yuppification of Bermondsey” can be partially blamed on this “boisterous” and “cramped”, but “very enjoyable, buzzy and busy ex-pub”, near the antiques market; all reports found it “worth the trek” this year – hopefully that sentiment will survive its sale in June 2015.
A “charming” Bermondsey corner boozer that’s “a bit cramped, but has a buzz about it” – for anything “from a great breakfast to an evening meal”, it rarely fails to hit the spot.
A “very busy” Bermondsey gastroboozer, with a “lovely interior” and a “great vibe”; the food in general is “very decent”, with the “dependable” brunch a particular highlight.
