The Hawksmoor brand opened its sixth London site in February 2017, in Borough Market - the very place that owners Will Beckett and Huw Gott credit for the inspiration, suppliers and produce of the original Hawksmoor. A restored Victorian hop warehouse over two floors will house Hawksmoor Borough.

This cult steakhouse chain (soon to hit NYC) has carved a legendary reputation for its “expert” steaks featuring “brilliant quality” British-bred beef, and “glorious cocktails”, and it’s also a “go-to choice for a business lunch”. However, its ratings continue to slide – especially given the “noisy and unexceptional” ambience at some of the more “dull” locations – supporting those who say “Hawksmoor no longer stands out in a crowded field”, while, as ever, the bloated bills can seem “just too much like taking the whatsit”. All that said, the business is still on a roll and a new branch near Borough Market is to open in Spring 2017. Top Tip – “the stunning-looking Air Street branch is the best in the empire”.
“Utterly brilliant steaks” and “professional” cocktails have won cult status for Huw Gott and Will Beckett’s “lively and clubby” steak houses (a fave rave for “boozy business lunches”); they risk starting to seem “up themselves”, however, not helped by increasingly “stupid prices”.
“Absurdly juicy” steaks and “first-class cocktails” underpin huge acclaim for Huw Gott & Will Beckett’s “casual and laid-back” temples to meat; even fans admit prices are “eye-watering”, though, and ratings are beginning to fall some way behind those of its main rival, Goodman.
“The group that can do no wrong” (well for the blogosphere anyway) – Huw Gott and Will Beckett’s “failsafe”, “meat-paradises” mix “superlative” steaks with “tantalising” cocktails; prices can seem “hideous” however and – by a smidgeon – its overall rating is pipped by rival Goodman.
