“If you’re looking for something different”, try a meal in the pitch black, at this crackpot Farringdon theme-restaurant, where “you eat as if you were blind” (as the staff actually are); “the novelty wears off quickly”, though – the food is “diabolical” and “overpriced”, and the staff can be “grumpy” too!

“Within four minutes of arriving, I was dying to leave.” The critic is not impressed at all by this restaurant where you eat in the pitch black. In fact, eating here is quite possibly “the most shameless (and expensive) gustatory illusion since the Feeding of the 5,000”.

So ghastly is the critic’s meal at this Clerkenwell restaurant where you dine in the dark that he finds himself – for the first time ever – going off for another meal afterwards.
