“Oyster, crab and fish pie are unbeatable” at this communal fish and seafood spot in The Lanes (nowadays less well-known than its beachside offshoot). “The catch of the day is always a good choice.”
“Super crab salad” and other “lovely” seafood dishes inspire nothing but high praise for this popular, communal-eating destination – the candlelit Lanes original of what now has a sister operation (see also its beachside offshoot).
These “jumping” joints have many fans for their “fresh seafood, well and simply treated”; in addition to the candlelit Lanes original, there’s now a beachside offshoot, where the al fresco tables are best – if you must sit inside, make sure you sit at the front.
“The only decent high-end seafood restaurant in town!”; this “hidden gem”, in the Lanes, dishes up “delicious fish by candlelight, washed down with some excellent wines”; “shared tables may not seem ideal, but actually it’s all part of the atmosphere”.
Our original Brighton Lanes Oyster Bar is lit by candlelight and features tiled walls and high tables and stools. You will be seated side-by-side, allowing for a focus on casual dining and ambiance. We have fresh daily specials and catch of the day on offer. Our open kitchen adds to the experience of The Lanes, allowing you to watch your food being prepared. Our marble topped tables act as the perfect setting for grazing on local seafood and enjoying a chilled glass of Champagne. Strictly no reservations.
