Although the common parts and entrance of this prettily-located St James’s institute (of Mechanical Engineers) are rather, well, institutional, the panelled Council room, the Hinton room (park views) and the odd but striking Marble Hall are all well suited to quite grand entertaining – the last being the best place for receptions.
